  • Please describe the classroom area at your facility. Please include details such as; capacity, whiteboard/chalkboard, wifi availability, projector or a/v capability, etc.
  • Please provide details about your waterfront facilities. Indicate the number of powerboats available for training and include the following; length, horsepower, propulsion type (i.e. outboard), console location, and steering type.

Requirements for Hosting a Powerboat Instructor Course

In an effort to ensure our courses run smoothly and provide maximum benefit to all participants, we suggest that host facilities have access to the following items:

  • 3-5 powerboats in good, working order. Preferably center consoles with outboard engines between 17 and 26 feet in length. All vessel documentation as well as safety equipment required by your state and USCG must be available and onboard during the course.
  • 1 dinghy style sailboat (420, FJ, Laser or similar) for use in capsize recovery drills.
  • Classroom space for up to 8 students (a/v, projector recommended, but not required)
  • 3-5 marks w/ground tackle for on-the-water drills
